Phan Rang, South Vietnam. 1971-05-31. The last bomb dropped by No. 2 Squadron RAAF during the Vietnam war loaded on the wing of a Canberra light bomber A84-244 aircraft. The bomb is painted white and on the side the armourers have painted in red the words "76,389th and last bomb compliments to 'Charlie' from No. 2 Squadron RAAF UC Dai Loi". No. 2 Squadron's final bombing mission was carried out by Flying Officer (FO) David Smith as the pilot and FO Peter Murphy, the navigator. (Donor L. Osmond)
