Description
Group portrait of members of the 16th Reinforcements to the 5th Australian Light Horse Regiment (5ALH) at the Chermside Camp before embarking for active service overseas. The unit embarked on 5 April 1916 at Sydney on HMAT A47 Mashobra. Included in the group are two indigenous serviceman, the soldier back row, far right, is unidentified and the soldier, second row, far left, is most likely to be 2420 Trooper Walter Couchy.
