Wyton, England. 1945-5-08. An informal group of men outside the mess at the RAF Station enjoying a drink to celebrate Victory in Europe (VE) Day. Included in the group are Air Vice Marshal Don C. T. Bennett RAAF CB, CBE, DSO, AOC (Air Officer Commanding) 8 Group RAF (second from right), Wing Commander Rodley, Commanding Officer No. 128 Squadron, "Slab" Elliott and one of the four senior Russian officers visiting the station. Note that despite the occasion Air Vice Marshal Bennett is only drinking lemon squash.
