Description

75mm Field gun with hydrospring recoil mechanism. Cradle is mounted on a carriage with iron rimmed wooden spoked wheels. The trail is constructed from two parallel tubular steel trails which clamp to the axle tree. The tubes are joined by a tubular cross member at the rear end. In the centre of the cross member is a projection rearwards for fitting the trail end and a large single detachable spade. Breech is interrupted screw thread type and is actuated by a hand lever swinging across the rear of the breech ring. Elevation and traverse is handwheel controlled from the left side of the carriage. Dial sight mounting is also on the left side of the cradle. The shield extends on wither side beyond the wheels. The gun is painted in a semi gloss post war khaki, obscuring what appears to be original paint and unit markings underneath.
