Description
Bismarck Sea. 1943-03-03. A Japanese merchant vessel receives a direct hit while another bomb is a near miss to the stern. This vessel was part of a large Japanese convoy attacked by Allied aircraft, including a Beaufighter aircraft of No. 30 Squadron, during the Battle of the Bismarck Sea. The Battle was fought about 40 miles north west of Buna when the Japanese were trying to re-supply the Buna area. (Donor F. Cassidy)
