Ward's Airfield, Papua. 1942-11-22. `S' for Sugar Beaufighter aircraft (A19-36) of No. 30 Squadron RAAF on its nose on the air strip after taking hits from Japanese anti-aircraft fire causing the hydraulics to fail. The navigator was Sergeant W. D. (Bill) Keller (right) and the pilot Warrant Officer Edwin Gwynne Hughes. (Donor F. Cassidy)
