Description
Aerial photograph of aircrew and local civilians standing on a beach around the inflatable life raft used by aircrew after their plane crashed at sea three miles off the coast of Moruya. The crew were flying Anson aircraft AX-510 from No 73 Squadron RAAF on a routine anti-submarine patrol at the time of the crash. The crew, 406371 Flying Officer Kenneth Rolfe, Pilot; 427838 Pilot Officer (PO) John Harold Duncan Venning, navigator and 419125 PO Robert Douglas Kerr, air gunner, were rescued at sea by local fishermen, approximately two hours after the aircraft crashed.
