Morotai. 1945-05. Bare-chested members of the 2/7th Australian Survey Battery, Royal Australian Artillery, standing in front of jeeps prior to their departure from Morotai to Balikpapan, Borneo. The 2/7th Australian Survey Battery landed on Borneo on 3 July 1945, two days after the landing of the allied infantry. Note the numbers painted on the bonnet of the jeeps. These indicate on which landing ship the vehicles will be transported.
