Description
Manuscript `The Martin B-26 Marauder: personal account, chapter 5 "Military Service" of an unpublished autobiography. Describes Miller's experiences in 18th Reconnaissance Squadron, later 408th Bombardment Squadron, of the 22nd Bomb. Group, as a Photographic Officer. Describes training for aerial photography, bomb damage assessment, flights in B-26 Marauders and B-24 Liberators. Mentions experiences as an American serviceman in Brisbane, Townsville, Reid River, describes duties in New Guinea (particularly Port Moresby, Dobodura, and Owi Island), the Philippines, reunion with girlfriend stationed at Camp Cable as a nurse, return to U.S. and discharge from army, post-war conditions in America.
