Description
At sea off the Gallipoli Peninsula. Four boat loads of Australian troops being towed towards Anzac Beach, early on the morning of the landing, pass a British destroyer. The British Large Cruiser, HMS Bacchante, which was providing close inshore support is in the distance beyond the boats. The distinctive four funnels of HMS Bacchante earned her the nickname, 'packet of Woodbines' (a brand of cigarettes).
