Platoon notebook maintained by Sergeant Johns during the fighting over the Kokoda Track including platoon and section nominal rolls, section duties and supplies and annotations in red pencil of battle casualties during this campaign; photocopy of a typescript narrative entitled 'Ron: In memory of a departed comrade' by Jon Zee (R.D. Johns) recalling his memories of Private Ron Barnes who was Johns' batman in No. 7 Platoon of the 2/27th Battalion; photocopy of a transcription of a talk by Robert Johns for the benefit of those viewing a proposed exhibition in the Australian War Memorial and relating his experiences on Johns' Knoll in 1943.
