Hollandia, Dutch New Guinea. 1944-09-22. Journey's end: "almost tail into the palms". This was the phrase used by the pilot of a Martin PBM Mariner flying boat aircraft of No. 41 (Transport Sea) Squadron RAAF based at Cairns which, as an experiment, was warped alongside a small jetty at Lake Sentani.
