Description

Probably Taeryong River, Korea, c. 1950-10. A large group of North Korean prisoners-of-war (POWs) stands lined up in two rows on a sandy riverbank. The North Koreans, who are wearing a motley assortment of jackets, coats, trousers and headgear, were captured by or surrendered to members of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), when the Australians crossed the river during their northward advance.
