Description
Korea, c. 1950-12. In a winter landscape, a group of soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), gathers around a small fire while they eat a meal from their dixies. A billy is resting on the fire, while mugs, tins, pans and dixies lie scattered on the ground. The men are well rugged up as protection against the cold. Snow lies thickly on the ground around the men, while the branches of the pine trees on the slope behind them droop under the weight of fallen snow.
