Description
Korea, c. 1950-12. At a mess parade, a cook (left) from the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), places a bread roll in another 3RAR soldier's dixie. The cook is standing in a low, open-fronted shed made of timber and corrugated iron. Resting on the bench or counter in front of him is a wooden crate labelled with the words 'Bread 5 lvs' (loaves). Both soldiers are wearing padded windproof jackets and beanies as protection against the cold.
