Description
Korea, c. 1950-12. In the depths of winter, a thick cover of snow blankets the ground in a ramshackle Korean town. Behind a damaged masonry wall in the foreground stand several houses which comprise mere hovels of corrugated iron built around brick chimneys. Larger and better-constructed houses stand in the background. Telegraph poles, one of them (right) leaning at a precarious angle, support a network of electric power lines.
