Korea, c. 1951-02. Dressed in traditional clothing, a husband and wife pair of Korean peasants sits outside their farmhouse and extract or sort seeds from a crop they have grown. The man is sitting on a mat and working over a wooden bowl that stands inside a wooden tub. The woman has a wooden bowl and box on either side of her and is working with a mound of seeds on a piece of matting. Behind her stand some large storage jars, while at right is an A-frame for carrying large loads on the back. Some snow rests on the ground at rear (right).
