Description
Korea, c. 1951-02. On an exposed hilltop position, members of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), gather in little groups around fires to keep themselves warm. As additional protection against the winter cold, most of the soldiers are wearing padded windproof jackets and pile caps. Scattered about on the ground (right) are tins of food, two ammunition boxes, a bayonet, soldiers' packs and weapons and a pick. (Donor I. Robertson)
