Description

Hill 355 area, Korea, 1952-03. Members of 'A' Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), wait in line to attend a church service at the Company Aid Post which consists of a simple thatched structure erected on a crude timber frame on 'Cemetery Ridge'. A rough sign mounted at an angle on the front of the building reads: 'A COY CAP'. Left to right: Lionel Mastello; Ivan Wilkins; 'Kiwi' Collett; 3/395 Major Jeffrey James (Jim) Shelton MC, the company commander; 'Doc' Pearman. 'Cemetery Ridge' was a soldiers' nickname for a low ridge that ran in front of the dominating feature known as Hill 227 ('Fanny Hill') which was strongly held by Communist Chinese troops.
