Tokyo, Japan, 1951. 3/478 Captain John Charles Francis (Paddy) Moloney, commander of D Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), relaxes in a garden chair while on leave in Japan from Korea. Set out on the table in front of him are a bottle of beer, several glasses, a carton of Pall Mall cigarettes and a bowl with some snacks or savouries in it. Captain Moloney's left foot is bandaged and is resting on the table. He received a wound in the ankle on 1951-10-15 when he contacted a Communist Chinese booby trap.
