Qastina, Palestine. 1940-07-18. Informal group portrait of the officers and nursing sisters of the 2/1st Casualty Clearing Station (2/1st CCS) inside the Sisters' Mess. Identified nursing sisters from left to right: VFX263 Dorothy Vines, E. Sulzberger, VFX381 H. D'Alton, VFX378 M.J. Hanna, VX266 Anna Elizabeth Whiteside, VFX360 U.A. Melville, VFX374 M.E. Josephs, and VFX62909 M.F. Lindsay. The second officer seated from the left was the Commanding Officer (CO) of the unit, Lieutenant- Colonel J.K. Adey.
