Chest pack parachute harness : RAAF / RAF
Description
Parachute harness with white cotton webbing straps for the arms, chest and legs leading to a four point central front, chromed metal, harness lock. This lock is marked with an arrow and the words 'TURN TO UNLOCK/PRESS TO RELEASE'. The reverse of the lock is stamped '1340-1'. The chest straps each have a sturdy hook with spring clip for attaching the parachute. One strap is marked '4-1943' in black ink. The bottom strap is marked 'L.A.C.2'
