Description

South Vietnam, 1971. Four foxholes dug by Army of the Republic of South Vietnam (ARVN) troops in a village in the area known as "The Street Without Joy". Pits like these were dug when a patrolling unit camped in one location for more than one night which increased the likelihood of attack from Viet Cong (VC) forces. 28324 Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Brian E. Betts, Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV), was attached to the ARVN unit patrolling the countryside around this site. (Donor B. Betts)
