Description
Australian artist George Gittoes, who visited Somalia and Australian troops on peacekeeping operations during the United Nations Operation in Somalia (UNOSOM), talking to the children of Grade 3/4 of the Queanbeyan East Primary School about his experiences in Somalia and describing some of his paintings. A painting of a Somali child is held up by Elizabeth Reddy, the teacher of Grade 3/4. The children of Grade 3/4 collected school materials for Somali children which were distributed to an orphanage school in Mogadishu by the Australian Contingent to UNOSOM.
