Mackay, Qld. C. 1943. Interior of a milk bar where sundaes, ice cream sodas and cold fruit drinks were served to American servicemen seated at the counter and at tables. The shop, or soda fountain as it was known to the Americans, was a busy spot in between dances and all through the day. (Original print held in AWM Archive Store at Department of Information N652)
