Hampstead, London, England. c. 1944. Informal portrait of the artist Sheila Hawkins (later Bowden), painting at her easel in her studio. Hawkins worked in a civilian capacity at RAAF Headquarters in London where she completed several portraits of RAAF members. These paintings are now held in the Australian War Memorial's Art Collection. Note the toy koala on the shelf at left rear. (Donor S. Bowden)
