Madang, New Guinea, 1945-08-15. During their celebrations for Victory in the Pacific (VP) Day, RAAF servicemen from Headquarters, RAAF Northern Command (NORCOM), sit on an upturned boat or dinghy after enjoying a swim in the bay behind them. The men are stark naked except for pieces of foliage of various shapes and sizes that most of them have strategically positioned as fig-leaves.
