[Soldier on horse]
Description
An emaciated horse is ridden by a soldier wearing glasses. The horse is weighed down by shovels, papers and extra bags. They are heading away from a signed that points 'TO PARKHOUSE', and towards a forked path, with one path signed posted 'TO FRANCE', and the other 'TO DURRINGTON'. The horse's hooves are enlarged in comparison to the rest of his body.
This drawing is attributed to Louis Vasco - the artist's given name was Vasco Loureiro but he enlisted as Louis Vasco and has signed his name 'Vasco', 'Spr Vasco'.
