Hammersmith, London, England, c. 1918-06. Workmen stand beside a De Havilland DH9 aircraft which has just been manufactured and is now ready to fly. The fabric pinned up behind the aircraft bears the tradename, Waring and Gillow Ltd Decorators, Oxford, whose firm, the Alliance Aeroplane Company, manufactured DH9s at a factory in Cambridge Road.
