Foggia, Italy. 1943. Flight Sergeant Peter Gilbert of North Adelaide, SA, just prior to taking off with No. 3 (Kittyhawk) Squadron RAAF, on its first raid over Yugoslavia. No. 3 Squadron along with two other squadrons of No. 239 Wing RAF went to the aid of Yugoslav patriots engaging the enemy on the other side of the Adriatic Sea.
