Kut-el-Amira, Mesopotamia. c. 1917-01. New Zealand members of the 1st Wireless Signal Squadron, Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force, preparing a meal in a mobile kitchen during a bivouac with members of the British Cavalry Division (6th and 7th Cavalry Brigades). They were camped at No. 9 Station on the Hai near Bassouia.
