Ali Gharbi, Kut, Mesopotamia. c. 1917-02. Members of `C' Troop, 1st Wireless Signal Squadron, composed mainly of New Zealanders reinforced with some Australians, rest under their wireless mast. They were supporting a patrol column of the British Cavalry Division (6th and 7th Cavalry Brigades) which was part of the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force.
