Baghdad, Mesopotamia. 1917-03. Members of the printing section of the British Sappers and Miners Unit engaged in setting type in the field for corps orders. Note how their printing equipment was carried in yakdans (boxes specially designed for pack transport). The unit was part of the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force for which wireless communication was the responsibility of the 1st Wireless Signal Squadron.
