Description
Baghdad, Mesopotamia. 1917-03-11. Ruins of the buildings and masts of a former German wireless station south of the city. Squadron Headquarters (SHQ) of the 1st Wireless Signal Squadron, Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force, were looking forward to commandeering the equipment as they approached the city and could see the masts in the distance. Unfortunately the Germans destroyed it all and the building was subsequently taken over by the RAF for their headquarters.
