Karind, Persia. c. 1918-01. The mountain town of Karind which members of the 1st Wireless Signal Squadron passed through on the Persian Road. They were providing communications support with the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force who were keeping the highway open against Turkish attack. Note the astrakhan sheep in the foreground with the local Kurdish shepherd and the snow capped mountains in the background.
