Kirkuk, Mesopotamia. 1918-05-07. British members of the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force arrive in the town on horseback and in horse drawn wagons after capturing it from the Turks. Communications for the operation were supplied by members of the 1st Wireless Signal Squadron. In the background is the old town connected by a bridge over a river to the Turkish quarter and the large former Turkish barracks.
