Description
Hamadan, Persia. 1918-06-29. A horse drawn wagon of No. 9 (New Zealand) Station, 1st Wireless Signals Squadron, Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force, arrives at the outskirts of the town. The range in the background (which culminates in Mt Elwend, 11,000 feet) had been crossed on the previous day by the Asadabad Pass. The Station relieved a Russian wagon and was responsible for much of the radio transmission between Dunsterforce and British Headquarters at that time. (Donor E. Keast Burke)
