Description
Kawoka, Kurdistan. 1919-08. Tent and mast of No. 13 Station, `D' Troop, 1st Wireless Signal Squadron. Note the walls of rocks built around the station. The unit was supporting Major General Nightingale's Column (Nightcol) of the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force. The previous night they had come under fire from local Kurds. (Donor E. Keast Burke)
