Description
Robozak, Kurdistan. 1919-09. Elevated view of clouds of smoke billowing up from the village of Robozak which was set on fire by members of Major General Nightingale's Column (Nightcol), Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force. The operation involved the destruction of important houses and crops belonging to the local Kurds. No. 14 Station, `D' Troop, 1st Wireless Signal Squadron, remained in the area for three days while similiar operations took place in surrounding villages. (Donor E. Keast Burke)
