Deolali, India. c. 1917. Exterior of the mess room and sisters' quarters of No. 34 Welsh General Hospital. The hospital was staffed by members of the Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS) with a British officer, Colonel Sheen, in charge. Their patients included members of the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force as well as captured Turks.
