Identified from left to right are: SX1956 Private (Pte) Joseph Henry Roe from Birkenhead, South Australia; unidentified; SX947 Sergeant George Stanford Baldock from Renmark, South Australia (died of wounds in New Guinea on 28 August 1942); SX87 Pte Maxwell Julien Inglis from Kilkenny, South Australia (died of wounds in New Guinea on 28 August 1942); SX1556 Pte Claude Wilfred Gordon Brokensha from Sefton Park, South Australia. The partly obscured soldier in the cap and the soldier at right front are both unidentified.
