South Africa, c. 1901. Middelburg cemetery during the South African (Boer) War. A soldier stands beside the white wooden cross marking the grave of 3616 Quartermaster Sergeant Henry Tame who died, age 28 years, on 23 March 1902 of enteric fever while serving with 3rd NSW Imperial Bushmen. Painted at the foot of the cross: Erected by his brother Albert.
