Bangkok, Thailand. c. September 1945. An Australian Army jeep (No. 164056) used by the 26th Australian Graves Registration Unit (26 AGRU). The unit was attached to the War Graves Commission survey party that travelled the length of the Burma-Thailand Railway in September 1945 identifying the graves of Allied prisoners of war who died during its construction. Note the small map of Australia enclosing the letters AIF on the windshield.
