Description

Lidice, Czechoslovaka. 1942-06-10. The mining village in flames after it was systematically razed and set alight. On suspicion of harbouring the murderers of the Nazi SS leader Reinhardt Heydrich, assassinated on 1942-06-04, the inhabitants of the village were rounded up by the Germans. Every man was shot, all women sent to concentration camps and all children placed in institutions.
