St Catherines, Corsica, France. c. July 1944. 403150 Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) G. W. Small DFC of Grafton, NSW (left), congratulates 402523 Sqn Ldr D. H. McBurnie DFC DFM of Quirindi, NSW, who has been appointed Commanding Officer (CO) of No. 238 Squadron RAF. Sqn Ldr McBurnie was one of Sqn Ldr Small's flight commanders in No. 451 (Spitfire) Squadron RAAF, and Sqn Ldr Small in turn came from the unit to which Sqn Ldr McBurnie is now going as CO.
