Cuers, Southern France. September 1944. When it arrived in Southern France from Corsica, No. 451 (Spitfire) Squadron RAAF selected an old hut for its operations. Outside the hut Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) H. N. Osborne of Melbourne, Vic, Fitter, and 421260 Flt Sgt W. R. Field of Wollstencraft, NSW, study a map of France. In the doorway is 403150 Squadron Leader G. W. Small DFC of Grafton, NSW, Commanding Officer of the squadron at Cuers.
