Cuers, Southern France. September 1944. On the same airfield occupied by No. 451 Squadron RAAF in France, is a Fighting Free French squadron. This French pilot, Commanding Officer (CO) of the squadron, which was trained in North Africa by 403150 Squadron Leader G. W. Small DFC and Bar, of Grafton, NSW, CO of the RAAF squadron. Note that he is stepping out of a Supermarine Spitfire aircraft.
