Burma. c. 1943. During the Burma campaign the US Transport Command flew immense quantities of war material over the "Hump" in the Himalayas to supply China and also Mountbatten's armies in Burma. This photograph shows forest fires in the mountains, which at times confused searches for crashed transports.
