Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of Sister Dorothy Wright-Hay, England, Australia, 1915-1916, 1932-33.
Wallet 1 of 1 - consists of one autograph book (illustrated) signed by Australian and British patients of Lewisham Military Hospital wounded in battles on the Western Front. Many express thanks for treatment received during their stay in hospital. Includes several political cartoons, a sketch of HMT Royal Edward (sunk on the way to Mudros in August 1915 by a German submarine), a three-page poem describing the action which resulted in Robert Dunsire being awarded a Victoria Cross, and writings from Private John Bradford MM, AIF, who was later killed in action at Pozieres on 7 August 1916.
