Description

The Embalming Room in the In-Processing Section of the United States Army Mortuary complex at Tan Son Nhut Airbase. Special embalming tables, each with a 15-gallon drum of arterial and cavity fluid resting on it, stand in rows along the walls of the room. Attached to the ceiling above the tables are large pieces of equipment that provide forced draft ventilation. The room contained a total of twenty-two tables so that twenty-two dead bodies could be embalmed at once if the need arose. (Original 35mm half-frame transparency held in AWM Archive Store)
